John has 45 years of experience with the mining and energy industries, having spent the bulk of his career at CONSOL Energy Inc., finishing out his tenure as director of permitting for coal operations. His background spans all aspects of surface and underground mining projects, from permitting to operations to closure; it also encompasses regulatory affairs, environmental remediation, compliance auditing, health and safety, due diligence, and mergers and acquisitions. As a consultant beginning in 2013, John scopes and manages environmental review (NEPA), engineering, regulatory permitting, and compliance projects in the coal, hardrock, critical minerals, and aggregates in the mining sector nationwide. On behalf of his clients, he interacts with federal, state, and local government officials; non-governmental and regulatory agencies; resource managers; technical experts; and the public. John also participates in state and national mining trade organizations and sits on several committees.
